A couple of film posters by the immeasurably talented Jordie Bellaire.
I’ve been posting her stuff for a while and what I love about her work is that she can adapt to so many styles without any loss in quality and it always, always seems like she’s giving it her all. I mean, have you ever seen a fan-poster for Alien that looks like that? And is actually good? And that range; sometimes I look at her stuff and it reminds me of John Paul Leon and Tommy Lee Edwards, which is crazy already, but other times it reminds me of Ramon Perez and Adrian Alphona, which is crazier and that’s just from looking at a few pieces. I should also note that everything I’m saying goes for her coloring work as well. Maybe it’s just me, but these days it seems like a fair number of colorists don’t have much of an imagination (for lack of a better word) when it comes to their work, like they’re doing paint-by-numbers. Everything appears flat and the chosen colors don’t really add anything to the story or even enhance it, so it looks like the colorists are satisified just going through the motions. To me, that’s worse than simply being a “bad” artist. Who cares if it doesn’t work out, at least try to do something different. That’s why I like Jordie. She goes for it and succeeds.
